Stylistically sitting in a world of his own, Huxley has become renowned for his ability to mix house, techno and garage in one giant club shake. The result has kept people moving on dance floor for almost a decade with an album, Essential Mix & prestigious Rinse FM show under his belt.

His eclectic style has lead him to releases on Aus Music, Tsuba, Morris Audio, Hypercolour and 20:20 Vision. 2017 sees the UK producer throwing his hat into more rings, with aliases Martinet bringing out his melodic techno side and the Hux monkier flexing his house muscles. Continue reading

Occupy The Disco (OXD) is the New York-based DJ collective of Tad Haes, DJ RuBot, and Josh Appelbaum. What started out as a casual experiment by three friends to introduce underground electronic music back onto the gay dance floor soon turned into curation and experimentation behind the decks. Their shared love for queer nightlife’s musical legacy drives them to not only cherish the past but embrace the future.

Occupy The Disco maintains a residency at Le Bain at The Standard, High Line with their afternoon tea dance, Paradisco. OXD has also been played at Good Room countless times and we’re looking forward to having them back on 01.20 at Kim Ann Foxman’s Firehouse Recordings residency. The boys have put together a mix of foot-stomping house music for the 80th Good Room Podcast ahead of the party. Tickets available via Resident Advisor – bit.ly/2hwMqSB.

From college ragers in the dingy basements of New Brunswick, New Jersey, to secret spots around Brooklyn, Akanbi’s GROOVY GROOVY parties have been moving from strength to strength. Resident DJs, Akanbi, Teleself & Yogic, all strive to push engaging dance music through their live sets and have had major headliners such as Stenny, Andrea, L-Vis 1990, Egyptrixx, Bruce & Umfang.

The boys strive to make GROOVY GROOVY more than just a “party” series, to make it a space for transcendence. They continue to grow their tight-knit community of people who share a passion for sonic stimuli and a common goal of preserving the integrity of the Rave.

Good Room presents…
The Range
Jim-E Stack
Doctor Jeep

Following the release of his latest album, Potential earlier this year, The Range returns to Good Room on December 29. Potential is a record steeped in histories – of its characters, of its forebears – but is startlingly new and alive: the network may be ones and zeros but the circuitry here runs on blood, still. Curses is the dark and romantic moniker from New York City native, Luca Venezia. Always blending the line between Electronic music and his Rock & Roll roots, Curses sounds like something from an illegal galactic warehouse party with flashes of ’80s Italo-disco and New Wave.

Currently based in Berlin, Curses’ DJ sets and productions are anchored in the deeper side of things, incorporating his signature ghostly vocals and guitar. The Safer at Night founder put together a live mix full of exclusive edits and vocals for a dark and melodic set for the 73rd Good Room Podcast. Continue reading

Nicky Siano is the Master of Disco Soul. A pioneer of the dance music scene in the early seventies, Nicky was the owner/designer/DJ of the legendary seventies dance palace The Gallery and went on to become one of the original Studio 54 resident DJs. He worked the DJ booth at Bianca Jagger’s infamous Studio 54 birthday party. He inspired and launched the careers of Grace Jones, D.C. La Rue, Loleatta Holloway, Larry Levan and Frankie Knuckles, to name a few.

He’s put together a mix of classic NYC disco and funk for the 72nd Good Room Podcast.
