GlitterballNYC presents Samo Records Label Launch Party
The Horrorist
Pixelife
Facets
Free – All Night

Just-launched Samo Records will explore the darker, moodier side of electronic music, anywhere from electro to EBM to cold-wave territory and all points in between. As a label born in New York, Samo will feature the best local up-and-coming and established talent on every release as either original artist or remixer. Founder Boris Knezevic (who DJs under the Facets moniker) has a vision for connecting people who wouldn’t normally be on the same release.

Samo’s debut release comes from New York visual artist/musician Pixelife (Sean Dack), who has released on labels such as Throne of Blood, Let’s Play House, and Horn Wax and is also one half of Ghost Cop. The A side (“Omega Block”) is remixed by British producer Antoni Maiovvi, who co-runs the horror disco label Giallo Disco Records; the B side (“Chimeras in the Matrix”) remix comes from another British producer, Tronik Youth, who helms the prolific Nein Records.

FIXED presents Dave P’s Birthday Party
JDH & Dave P all night long
Paul Raffaele & Barbie Bertisch in the Bad Room
Free with RSVP – http://bit.ly/2asjTiw

JDH and Dave P, hailing from New York and Philadelphia respectively, are the duo behind the FIXED parties, which have been running for over eleven years. The duo have toured numerous times with Simian Mobile Disco and Soulwax and have played Coachella, PS1, Camp Bisco, FYF Fest, and at Pacha Ibiza. In addition, Dave throws the Making Time and Snacks parties in Philly, and you can catch his “Making Time RADio” show once a month on XPN.

Paul Raffaele’s track record plainly shows his devotion to the long tradition of dance music in New York City. A native son who came of age in the early ’00s house heyday and marinated in the unique milieu of the Loft and its offshoots, Paul’s musical tastes run wide, appropriate for someone who grew up taking full advantage of city’s musical riches. This sensibility, grounded in the dancefloor and Paul’s house and disco roots, is evident in the releases on his Most Excellent Unlimited Records, founded in 2013, which run the gamut from techno to house to eclectic selections from the edit vaults of Danny Krivit. He also runs Love Injection, a free fanzine published monthly.

Born & raised in Buenos Aires, Brooklyn resident Barbie Bertisch emerged with a passion for soul-reaching music; her fast-growing record collection ranges from ambient, crossover jazz, world music, cosmic, left-field, house and soulful disco delight. She is also a collaborator for Love Injection music fanzine, co-hosts its monthly namesake radio show on Dublab, has a weekly show on The Lot Radio, and is a producer of NY’s chapter of Classic Album Sundays, a series of active listening sessions.
