Good Room presents…
Throb – A benefit for our brothers and sisters at Pulse

The shootings at Pulse nightclub in Orlando last week were a tragedy. The fact that a man thinks he has the right to take away the lives of 49 people (and injury 53 people) because he couldn’t handle his own sexuality is devastating. The fact that this person had access to a gun is wrong.

We are who we are and we can’t change that. Love is love and we shouldn’t be judged on that. Gay men were responsible for creating modern day dance music and clubbing culture dating back to NYC in the 1970s. The dancefloor was a space where people felt safe to be themselves and forget about the outside world and persecution, even if it was only for one night.

We are holding a benefit at Good Room to show the world that no one can stop us being who we are. A number of queer and straight DJs from the NYC dance music community are donating their time so we can dance away the hate. Suggested donation is $10 and 100% of proceeds will go to the victims, families and loved ones of the shooting via the Pulse Victims Fund.
