Red Axes have a rock’n’roll approach to DJing. Dori Sadovnik and Niv Arzi started Red Axes out of the ashes of their post-punk/new wave band Red Cotton, giving them a unique approach to electronic music. They’re best known  for their modernized dance music infused with spiky guitars and industrial beats.

As producers, they’ve had releases on top labels such as Hivern, Correspondent, Multi Culti, Kill the DJ and many more. Their tracks are constantly being played by some of the biggest DJs in the world. The boys also have their own record label, Grazen Records. Continue reading

There’s something in the water in Brooklyn. Every day we see more and more all female line ups and names of female producers and DJs splattered around gig posters around town.

Discwoman has a large part to play in this. The all-female DJ platform and booking agency represents and showcasing female-identified DJ talent in electronic music. UMFANG co-founded the collective with Frankie Hutchinson and Christine Tran. As a producer she has released brilliant tapes for Videogamemusic and 1080p that combined subtle, murmuring textures and slamming, mechanical beats into something with a lot of personality. She was also named in FACT Magazine’s Top 10 house and techno producers to watch in 2016. Continue reading

Daniel.T. is one of our favorite West Coast kids. He is a DJ/producer/record collector based in Los Angeles who’s been making things happen in the disco scene for years. He is one half of the duo Cosmic Kids and has contributed music to labels such as Throne of Blood, Let’s Play House, Young Adult Records and DFA Records.

Willie Burns joins the Good Room family as a resident and shares a new mix of rare house, oddball techno and a couple of classics for the 10th Good Room Podcast. Willie has been around for years, currently releasing on taste making labels such as The Trilogy Tapes, L.I.E.S. and Creme Organization. On top of producing records he stays busy with a wildly varied weekly radio show (WTBS), managing the infamous record digging spot known as The Thing in Brooklyn and also running W.T. Records. Tropical Goth’s Chris Video delivers the 8th Good Room podcast ahead of the Bad Room party on October 17. Chris has been throwing parties across the US since the early 2000s, but since settling in NYC three years ago he’s been DJing around Brooklyn’s underground techno parties, producing original live electronic music as SHREDDER and handles bookings for Bossa Nova Civic Club.
